Primary Bathroom Remodel
As with most homes built before 2015, this full bath was built with a rarely used bathtub. Homeowners often opt to remove the tub and instead include an oversized walk-in shower—some are steam showers, some have two shower heads and wall accessories, and some are truly functional with benches and grab bars which are great for aging in place.
This bathroom design includes:
A side tower cabinet, vanity, and over-the-toilet cabinet for storage instead of constructing a linen closet that would take away from the overall square footage and open space in the bathroom.
Light neutral colors for the wall color, floor and shower tiles, and a pop of color for contrast with the darker blue cabinets.
Porcelain tiles that have the ‘Carrara look’ (pro tip: ‘Carrara look’ tiles in porcelain look great, they are cost-effective, and they are easier to maintain than natural stone)
Contemporary black metal arched mirror and brushed nickel fixtures throughout the bathroom
A heated tile floor (with a timer so it is on schedule with you)!
Shower bench and grab bars for additional shower safety
